In the best game of the premilary round, Finland beat Sweden by an early goal in the 15th minute and a powerplay one in the third period, while Sweden tied in the second. Sweden had more chances throughout the match, but Finnish MVP goalie Joanna Mäkela saved 27 out of 28 shots.
